Jazzie BAl’s my first-call engineer when I’m starting a new project. Doesn’t matter whether it’s Ableton, Pro Tools or Logic, he knows his way round them all. He’s shown me some amazing stuff with Ableton which has convinced me to integrate it with the Soul II Soul live show.

jim hustwit2Aside from being a thoroughly nice bloke, Al presented everything in a clear and concise manner and tailored the content to suit my level. I’d definitely recommend him and I’m now much more confident in my ability to mix my tracks in Logic.

charlie1We used to work together as in-house engineers at The Dairy Studios and I’ve got to say Al is the undisputed king of Pro Tools shortcuts! Recently he’s been giving me some tips on the ridiculous stuff you can do with Ableton, and I’ve found myself using Ableton more and more with artists I’m producing.

Charlie Hugall – Producer (Florence and The Machine, Ed Sheeran, Lucy Rose)

I was new to Ableton and ‘wet behind the ears’. Lessons with Al helped me discover new instruments and the full meaning and purpose of them. I gained more confidence and was taught different methods of experimenting with music, and developing different sounds. I would recommend Al as a knowledgeable and experienced tutor of music production. He’s also a top man and very professional!

Bertie1Al’s lessons on Ableton Live were great. He took me through everything, made it all very clear, and went at a pace that really suited me. I feel I’ve now got the confidence to use the software in any way that I want. Plus, he made it all seem fun and creative, which is exactly what making music should be. I’d highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to use Ableton.

Jon-More-345x326Al has worked for Coldcut both as a live tour technician & sound assistant, as an Ableton programmer and mixing engineer. Al’s attention to detail, calm nature under severe pressure and ability to be up to speed very quickly is a real bonus.

Jonathan More – Coldcut

Kaveh PurpleAl is THE Ableton guru! His teaching style is friendly and easy to follow and he’s always able to show me how to make the sound that’s in my head! I’ve been a club DJ for years now and after these lessons I’m finally making my own tracks and playing them out live. I never realised Ableton would be so much fun!

DJ Kaveh – Resident DJ at Project, Libertine & Rose

I couldn’t find any Pro Tools instructors in my area so after some searching I discovered Al…on the other side of the planet! Now we have a weekly lesson via Skype that works incredibly well – it’s the next best thing to actually being there. Al is a great teacher and always makes sure I fully understand something before moving on to the next topic.

Dom Papa – Pro Tools remote learner (Australia)

A few weeks ago I was staring at Ableton totally confused about where to start but after just a few hours at Al’s studio I’m now producing the music I’ve been wanting to make for years! Even after the first two hour session I was ready to write a track. I would say Al is a patient teacher and very passionate about Ableton.

David Farrell – DJ & Ableton learner

julian_emery_1There’s so much buzz in the industry about Ableton so I decided to do some lessons with Al to see what all the fuss is about. He was friendly and enthusiastic and he quickly got me up and running. Some of the things you can do in Ableton are just not possible with other DAWs and I found it invaluable to have someone like Al to show me the best tips and techniques to get great results, fast. I’m now regularly using Ableton on my writing sessions and find it’s improved my creative workflow. Highly recommended!
